October 9, 2013
This week we have been learning about the continents. Ask your child to sing
the continent song. On Tuesday afternoon, the students attended a magic
show about the water cycle and conserving water. The students enjoyed this
presentation.
When we return from fall break, we will continue our study of the earth and
introduce dinosaurs.
Due the the popularity of bringing books in for story time, the following

October 18 is Watch Me Work. Aftercare will be provided for siblings. This is a
special time for you to observe your child work in the classroom. If you have
more than one child it is recommended to leave the other children in aftercare
so you can give your attention to one child at a time.
October 31 is History Mystery. At Montessori de Santa Cruz, the students
celebrate Halloween in a unique way. The Upper Elementary students will be
researching different characters from their cultural studies and give a
presentation to parents and the other students from 1:00–2:45 pm. Please do
not send your child in costume or with a costume. We will not be dressing up
or passing out treats.
